American White Ibis, Reflection
This photograph was captured in the late afternoon on a very still day. A drop
of water had fallen from the bird's beak just a moment earlier, creating the
ripples seen in the water. The American White Ibis is a wading bird in the ibis
family Threskiornithidae. It is found from the mid-Atlantic and Gulf
Coast of the United States south through tropical areas of Mexico and Central
America.
These birds prefer to eat crayfish and other crustaceans, but they also take
aquatic insects and small fish.
