A long and continuously uphill hike in the rain through a
rainforest led to this
intensely colored waterfall. Being on the side of a steep, muddy, and slippery
hill there were only three places I could stand and set up a tripod. All were
closer to the waterfall than I wanted to be, two were quite precarious, and I
thought the third offered a less than optimal view. I got very
muddy composing photographs from the two precarious spots, but was not happy
with them. I stayed there for quite a while, sitting in the rain and wondering
what else I might try, finally realizing that the relatively small area in front
of me contained every trait that made the bigger waterfall special.
